Prepare your car for summer in Malden, MA
How to prepare your car for summer
It is important to maintain your car ahead of time for summer to prevent it from overheating and also to keep your car is good running shape. One of the most important maintenance is making sure that your car cooling system is working properly. Start by checking the antifreeze/coolant level. Remove the radiator cap with the engine off and check that there is enough antifreeze/coolant in the system. Be mindful when removing the cap, the engine should be cold. Next, make sure there is enough antifreeze in the cooling system reservoir. The antifreeze level should be at the full line. If it is below the full line; top it off with more antifreeze/coolant.

In addition, I recommend replacing your antifreeze/coolant every 2 years or 24,000 miles. As a safety precaution, it is best to replace the antifreeze every year since antifreeze is inexpensive and to remove rust build up. Also, make sure to burp the cooling system for potential air in the cooling system.  Moreover, make sure there are no leaks in the cooling system. Check for leaks around the radiator, upper and lower radiator hose, thermostat housing, water pump area and hoses going to the heater core. Furthermore, check the condition of the radiator cap. There should be no rust on the cap. Next, make sure the cooling fans are working. If it is an electric fan; make sure it turns on when the engine is warmed up. If the vehicle is fan clutch driven, make sure the fan is spinning as rpm increases.

Next, since you will be driving around in the summer heat; you’ll want to make sure the air condition system is in good working condition. Start by replacing the cabin air filter to get rid of any moldy smell.  Moreover, make sure there is enough Freon in the air condition system. If the air condition system is blowing cool but not cold then that means that the air condition system is low on Freon or it is possible you may have a small leak. Visually inspect the ac line for any possible leakage. Usually when there is a leakage; there will be build up accumulate on the line. And lastly, check the condition of the tires. There should be no cracks around the sidewall and thread area. The tires should not be bald and must be inflated to the proper PSI.

Summer is a great time to enjoy the beaches and make road trips. But prior to hitting the road with your friends and family, it's truly crucial for you to know how to take care of your speed machine during the dog days. To prevent unexpected car repairs, you will want to make sure that your road companion is in pristine order before hitting the thoroughfare. No matter, whether you are going on a road trip or not, it is always pivotal to keep up with your vehicle's proposed maintenance regimen. Preparing an emergency kit is a great way to prepare for the unanticipated.

Great read!!!
The cooling system plays a crucial role in the vehicle.
It helps to stabilize the temperature of the engine.
Malfunctions in such an important system might trigger several other mechanical malfunctions.
Thus, routine inspection of the cooling system is essential and malfunctions need to be repaired immediately.
